GARY ST. LAWRENCE for Georgia Senate District 51
Fighting for a better Georgia future.

Fighting for a better Georgia future.
I'm 61, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Democrat (neither raging nor radical), an actual fiscal conservative - with 45 years of journalism, political reporting and IT experience.
I serve my country, not a president. I follow laws, not lawmakers. I speak truth, not rhetoric. I'm not a millionaire and I don't own a business that I can write laws to profit from. Not everyone in Georgia politics can say that. I want to serve Georgia and Georgians, not myself. I'm a truck-driving, gun-owning, church-going husband, father and grandfather, an IT professional, journalist and editor, a dog dad, and officer of the American Legion. My wife and I moved to Blairsville, GA in 2022 when we found the perfect place to build our permanent home dream.
I believe that oaths to support and defend the Constitutions of the United States and Georgia are sacrosanct; that Veterans have earned all their benefits and more; that complete and quality healthcare is a basic human need; and that the government we fund should serve US and provide the services that keep us healthy, comfortable and thriving.
I fight for all Georgians, and I fight for a better Georgia future.
Raise Georgia's national rankings in overall Health Care (45th), Education (34th), and Business Growth (26th).
Improve & expand the care and support of Georgia's seniors (43rd) & veterans (41st) including funding for assisted living facilities, staff & supplies, medical appointment transportation, food programs & assistance services.
Reallocate "Fraud, Waste & Abuse" Funds directly into School Classroom supplies and expenses and increasing Rural Healthcare.
Reduce the Property Tax/School Tax Bill for Retirees & Those on Fixed Incomes by Updating our 40-year-old Education Funding Formula.
Restore Civics, Home Economics and Industrial Arts courses back into the state's Public School Curriculum.
Maximize federal/state financial aid, incentives and national accreditation for trade schools and apprenticeships.
Permanently Clean & Protect our Lakes, Rivers, Streams & Dams, and Reverse Legislation Allowing Businesses to Dump Waste & Toxic Chemicals in Them.
Build one or two New Major East-West Connectors between the 400 & 515 across Northern Georgia.
A full ban on profiteering by any Georgia elected officials, including insider trading and tangential relationships, with mandatory jail time and fines for each instance.
Establish consistent, minimal and proactive voting requirements across all counties to ensure equal conditions and voting opportunity for ALL voters.
End all violation, avoidance and circumnavigation of the Georgia and United States Constitutions in attempts to advance partisan agendas and initiatives that are not supported by the public majority.
Each piece of legislation should be able to pass on its own merit, and not need to be hidden within other bills just for the sake of passage. All legislation I propose will be clear, easy to understand, and transparent.
All accounting will be publicly available and reported, in accordance with the law.
