About Me
I'm 61, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Democrat, a husband, father and grandfather, an IT professional, journalist and editor, a dog dad, amateur woodworker, a decent cook, and officer of the American Legion. My wife and I moved to Blairsville, GA in 2022 when we found our permanent home dream property. I'm a truck-driving, church-going gun owner, lifelong baseball fan, author of two books (one fiction, one non-fiction), and ardent fan of Sherlock Holmes novels and Mythology.
I'm an actual fiscal conservative and a social liberal - with 45 years of journalism and political reporting experience. I believe that Veterans have earned all their benefits and more; that complete healthcare is a basic human need; that the government we fund should serve US and provide the services that keep us healthy, comfortable and thriving. I believe that everyone in the richest country in the world should never starve, live in poverty, nor fear their elected officials.
I serve my country, not a president. I follow laws, not lawmakers. I speak the truth, not rhetoric. I'm not a millionaire and I don't own a business that I can write laws to profit from. Not everyone in Georgia politics can say that. I want to serve Georgia and Georgians, not myself.
My approach to politics and politicians is very simple; regardless of your party, don't do anything criminal, unethical, hypocritical or self-serving, and we'll get along just fine.
